Protecting furniture from dogs

Many pet owners look for various methods to protect their furniture from their dogs. A pet in a household might either chew the furniture or scratch them or urinate on them that owners find it very challenging to protect furniture from dogs in particular. There are actually many ways to protect furniture from dogs. Some methods are given below:

Dogs and cats tend to sharpen their claws that they might use the furniture to do so. If the pet owners can provide them with an alternative like a scratching post then they might be trained only to use them. This is one way of protecting furniture from dogs. Such posts can be bought either as a plain one or with toys on them. Dogs also have the habit of chewing or licking the furniture. To avoid chewing or licking, the furniture sets kept at home can be coated with some sort of material that emits foul odor or taste uninviting one so that they can protect furniture form dogs.

Chewing or licking furniture can also be avoided if the dogs are provided with their own toys shaped like bones and so on. The furniture sets can also be protected by covering them with thick, non tear material. Pet owners can also protect furniture from dogs by training them properly.
